A monitoring API that is the one the console uses

Everything an operator does in the Rapitt console is a request to an HTTPS route. Your service desk, ERP, reporting tool or script calls the same routes with a token instead of a signed-in browser — so the integration never falls behind the product.

What you can do with the API

  • Read the newest status of every host, or one client's hosts
  • Pull history, peaks and averages for CPU, memory and disk
  • Read security posture and grades for audit reports
  • List open alarms to open tickets in a service desk
  • Restart a service, IIS site, app pool or database engine and read back the verified state
  • Add hosts, clients and VPNs from provisioning scripts
  • Export metrics to a data warehouse or BI tool
  • Read the audit trail
# newest reading of every host
curl -s https://acme.rapitt.ai/api/status \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer rpt_…"

# restart a service; the answer carries the verified state
curl -s -X POST \
  "https://acme.rapitt.ai/api/control/host?id=42&kind=service&target=Spooler&action=restart" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer rpt_…"

API tokens and security

2

Scopes

Read-only for reporting; read-write for automation that changes things.

30–365

Days to expiry

Tokens expire at 30, 90, 180 or 365 days and can be revoked at any time.

600

Requests a minute

Per token, with up to 20 active tokens per account.

100%

Audited

Every change made with a token is in the audit trail under the token's name.

A versioned reference guide

The API reference guide downloads from the API Framework page of the console as a versioned PDF, released with each version of Rapitt. It documents every route with its parameters, access level and answer, and includes working examples in curl, PowerShell, Python and C#.

Because the console and the API are the same, there is no second set of permissions to manage. A read-only token sees what a read-only user sees; a client-scoped token sees that client only.

API questions

What format does the API return?

JSON over HTTPS, with times in ISO 8601 UTC. Metric exports are also available as CSV.

Who can create tokens?

Administrators, from the API Framework page. The token value is shown once at creation and stored only as a hash.
